Harriet the Spy
Oh man I can't believe I haven't posted this yet. Harriet the Spy is an ingenious band from the 90s of Kent, OH. They sound like spastic emo mixed with a post-hardcore vibe. I'm including their Anthology plus Unfuckwithable which has a different, more Yo La Tengo indie feel to it.

Lifetime
This band isn't anything new. Lifetime has been around since the 90s making some seriously good jams in the pop punk scene. However, though I love Jersey's Best Dancer as much as the next guy, their self titled album of 2007 is giving it a serious run for its money. It's soooooooooooooo good! On my list of pop-punk jams I'll be listening to this summer, along with Rvivr's new LP ^_^

The Mean Jeans
If you thought it couldn't get any better, well then you haven't heard Mean Jeans! Even though this Portland, OR band started out as a ripoff Ramones tribute band, in my opinion they are doing and accomplishing much more than just that. Recently I saw them live at the Artistery in Portland and it completely blew me away. They make you want to live everyday as if it were summer; skateboarding, eating pizza, and drinking beer. Even though I've never been a fan of the Ramones, their influence on this band is definitely apparent, but I don't think the Ramones ever partied as hard as these guys do.

Superchunk
Superchunk is an indie rock band from North Carolina that formed in 1989. If you like Pete and Pete and living in the 90s in the summer, then this band is for you. Super feel good vibes.

Charles Bronson
Charles Bronson is a hardcore/powerviolence band from Dekalb, Illinois that existed from 1994-1997. Known for their short songs and audio clips, Charles Bronson is a very very sick band for fans of Spazz, Infest, and even The Locust.
The Complete Discocrappy
White Lung
Get stoked! White Lung is an all girl punk band from Vancouver B.C. who play catchy riffs and apparently like to fuck shit up. All I could find was their 3 song Atlanta 7", but they are touring the states this summer so make sure to go see them! They will be playing at my house in Olympia on July 16th. WOHO!

Garden Variety
Garden Variety is a 90s emo/post-hardcore band for fans of Lync and Unwound. They have two Lps and many many 7" singles, but right now I'm just posting their Lp from 1994. Enjoy!

Honeywell
Yep, first Inkwell, now Honeywell. Great hardcore turned screamo band from the 90s that use a lot of audio clips in-between songs, which I think is pretty rad. For fans of Reach Out and Heroin.

Shroomunion
Goofy name, really good band. I don't think very much is known about these guys other than they are an emo band that existed during the mid-90s. Few of the members went to play in Still Life, a few went on to play in Driftwood. Instantly addicting.

Switzerland
When I first heard this band, I thought the singer's voice was a little cheesy because of the accent (being a band from Derby, UK), but I quickly got used to it. This is another band full of kids who are really good at their instruments. Reminds me a lot of Midwest Pen Pals. And the song Rice and Raisins just slays me. Seriously, one of the best songs I've heard in a while.

Monument
When I first heard this band, I basically bought everything they had to offer, and they sent me so much more. They are an emo band from Washington D.C. They are influenced by Braid and American Football and it definitely shows. But also if you like Snowing, you should definitely check them out. Here's their myspace too in case you decide to buy their stuff, which I highly recommend. They seem like great guys.
Florida Ep+New songs+7" songs+more songs!
Age Sixteen
There really aren't any other bands that sound like these guys, which is what makes them that much more awesome and unique. Screamo band from Baltimore. GREAT vocals with clean riffs and siq drumming. Definitely for fans of Boy Problems or Harrison Bergeron
Open Up Finders, Please
Spy Versus Spy
Another band that doesn't get all the recognition they deserve, but damn are they good. From the U.K. formed in 1998. Part of the post-hardcore binge I seem to be going on lately. Seriously though...so good

The Microphones
Oh man, what to say about this band. I've been listening to The Microphones ever since my sophmore year in high school when I dated this guy with all the in's to the K Records/Marriage Records music scene. Adrian Orange, Karl Blau, Andrew Kaffer, Kimya Dawson...they were all great but this one stuck with me the most. Not only is Phil Elvrum one of the greatest song writers, IMO, but his combination of loud drumming, static, bells, some insane guitar riffs followed by some mellow acoustic strumming, and his quite voice coming through all of it just makes me melt every time. There are a lot of good albums by The Microphones, including It Was Hot We Stayed in the Water and Mount Eerie, but The Glow Pt. 2 is definitely a must, at first. Phil Elvrum is currently focused on his band called Mount Eerie, which is more on the electronic side and which I less prefer, but it's still great.

Team Dresch
Really good punk band from Portland/Olympia highly involved in the queercore scene of the 90s
Personal Best
Snowing
I couldn't go very long without posting this. These guys come from the root of the crazy music scene that is going on in Pennsylvania right now, and by crazy I mean awesome. Very talented musicians with some goofy, cheesy lyrics that make you want summer to come all that much faster. Can't wait for these guys to come out with new stuff. Kirk Cameron Crowe owns. West Coast tour 2010 <3
Fuck Your Emotional Bullshit Demo
Harrison Bergeron
^^The kid in the white shirt pretty much sums it up. One of my favorite screamo bands. I only wish they had more stuff out there.
Dead Bergeron
Can't Hardly Wait
This band no longer exists. A couple of my friends from Bremerton, WA making really good punk music. Now members in a new, more pop-punkier band called Traditions

Little Lungs
I couldn't love this band anymore than I do. Female fronted vocal pop-punk band from Brooklyn. For fans of P.S. Eliot and Football, etc.
Hoist Me Up
Tigers Jaw
From Scranton, PA. This band is definitely a guilty pleasure. While being an indie rock band, there are definite undertones of a more mellow pop-punk aspect to them. They sing about friends and relationships with catchy lyrics, and the guys' voices couldn't be any more perfect for it.

The Pine
Bunch of scroungy kids from Bakersfield, CA that play some truly righteous emotional music in the vein of The Hated, Evergreen, and some other bands that shared those same characteristics.
So emotional and so dope. The singer's voice reminds me of Billy Corgan. Total 90s feel.
